  • Important Information

These teachings draw on traditional Taoist practices, including meditation, breathwork, visualisation, and movement exercises. The practices taught may include Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Tao Yin. They are offered for educational and spiritual purposes only and are not medical, psychological, or therapeutic treatment; at times, these practices may bring changes in awareness, emotional release, or shifts in perception; most people find these beneficial, though occasionally they may feel unfamiliar or intense. I understand that all physical activities carry some inherent risk of injury.

  • Your Responsibility

By participating, you acknowledge that these teachings are not a substitute for medical or psychological care. Participation does not create a doctor–patient, therapeutic, or clinical relationship with Dr Andrew Jan.

You will take responsibility for your own wellbeing during and after practice; listen to your body and rest or stop if needed; practise within your own limitations; and are encouraged to communicate promptly with the instructor if concerns arise during a course. If you are unsure about your suitability, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Courses are built directly upon the practices taught in earlier levels. Participants are expected to have completed the prerequisite training before enrolling. These requirements exist to promote safe, progressive learning and should not be bypassed without the instructor’s explicit approval.

  • Suitability

These practices may not be suitable if you are currently experiencing significant psychological or emotional instability; unresolved trauma that may be triggered; active substance dependence; or any condition that may be worsened by altered states of awareness; they are also not suitable during pregnancy. If you have a relevant medical or health condition, or are unsure about your suitability for these practices, you will seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional. These teachings are not available to residents from the USA or Canada.

  • Nature of the Teachings

Traditional Taoist terms such as “healing,” “elixir,” “medicine,” or “pill” are used in a classical, metaphorical sense, referring to inner cultivation rather than medical treatment; descriptions of energy (chi), sensation, or internal processes reflect traditional teachings rather than scientific or clinical claims. Individual experiences and outcomes vary, and no particular physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, educational or other outcome is guaranteed.

  • Recordings (Zoom sessions)

Where teachings are delivered via Zoom, participants understand that their name, image, or voice may be visible or audible in real time; sessions may be recorded for educational purposes, with reasonable efforts made to avoid intentional identification of participants in any shared or published material.

  • Terms and Conditions

Participation is also subject to the applicable Terms and Conditions of Andrew Jan Taoist Teachings Pty Ltd, including provisions relating to bookings, payments, cancellations, intellectual property, privacy and other matters. The current Terms and Conditions are available on our website at www.andrewjan.com.au.

  • Acknowledgement

These teachings are provided through Andrew Jan Taoist Teachings Pty Ltd, which is responsible for their educational content; by participating, you acknowledge that your participation is voluntary; you have read and understood the above information; and you take responsibility for your physical and mental wellbeing.
